On 21 August 2025, in perfect conditions the annual Night of the Mad Miles lit up the track — and what a great nights racing it was!

Races started from 7pm with runners grouped into heats based on anticipated pace, ensuring tight, competitive competition. A high-tech photo-finish system made sure every sprint across the line was accurately captured with athletes as young as under-13s (U13) taking part up to runners of age 70 plus! Faster male runner was George Hannay of Epsom and Ewell Harriers in a time of 4:07.24 and the fastest female was Sophie Lomas of Epsom and Ewell Harriers in a time of 5:10:49!

This year’s Mad Miles was a celebration of the running community whether runners were chasing personal bests or just soaking in the camaraderie, the night delivered memorable races and big smiles.

As if running a fast mile wasn’t enough the night ended with an impromptu 4x400 relay amongst some of the clubs present !

Results have been posted to the Power of 10, where they should appear in due course, and here.
