E&E Enjoy Relay Success Across All Age Groups

Epsom & Ewell enjoyed a fantastic evening of relay racing, with victories, podium finishes and outstanding performances from juniors, seniors and veterans alike.

The club's senior men produced one of the performances of the night, finishing second overall while taking the Senior Men's title. George Hannay led the way with a superb 8:05 split, backed up by Ollie Garrod (8:11), Jay Koike (9:15) and Csaba Fodor (9:23), as the quartet stopped the clock in 34:54, just 29 seconds behind the winning junior team.

Not to be outdone, the men's veterans team of Graham Wright, James Wilson, Neil Henderson and Stu Flack secured second place in the Veterans competition, finishing sixth overall in 36:07 after four consistently strong legs.

The women's teams also made their mark. The veteran ladies claimed an excellent category victory, with Amber Brough-Nuesink, Nicola Stevenson, Marta Cecconi and Sheridan Marshall combining to win in 41:54. The senior ladies were equally impressive, taking second place in their competition through the efforts of Sophie Glencross, Charlotte Arkwright, Poppy Mitchell and Orla Newbery, finishing in 41:17.

The junior section once again demonstrated the strength of E&E's thriving youth programme with a series of outstanding performances. The Under-18 boys stole the show, racing to overall victory in a superb 34:25. Zachary Wilson (8:17), Archie Dowse (8:25), Jack Samuel (8:46) and Harvey O'Shea (8:57) combined to head the entire field.

There was more silverware to celebrate as the Under-20 girls claimed their category, while the Junior Mixed Reds also took first place. The Under-16 boys Reds added a runner-up finish and the Under-14 boys Reds completed the podium with third, highlighting the impressive depth throughout the junior squad.

Away from the podium positions, Epsom & Ewell fielded teams across virtually every age group and category, with more than a dozen teams taking part. From experienced veterans to the club's youngest athletes, the evening showcased exactly what makes E&E such a strong community club: depth, enthusiasm and plenty of competitive spirit.

Congratulations to everyone who took part, whether chasing podium places, recording fast relay splits or simply enjoying a great evening of team racing. It was another memorable night for the red and yellows..
