Chris joined Epsom & Ewell Harriers towards the end of 2013, previously having been a recreational runner who had taken part in a few road races – but with an interest in getting faster and joining a friendly local group. Before he knew it he found himself in a cross country race, ankle deep in mud on Wimbledon Common, sliding around in his road shoes.

He has been club secretary since March 2024, responsible for club administration and communications.
