South of the Thames Cross Country Association 7.5 Mile Championship
Information
The South of the Thames Cross Country Association has been flourishing for well over one hundred years now and continues to provide opportunities for club runners to test themselves against others from clubs based in an area bounded by the River Thames in the north, the south coast, the county of Kent in the east and as far west as a team might be prepared to travel.
The South of the Thames 7.5 mile championship returns to Wimbledon Common on Saturday 20th December. Open to all England Athletics Affiliated Clubs with a Headquarters SOUTH of the River Thames who have paid their annual affiliation to the association (£11). Men and Women run together, scored separately. Only first claim members can score. Second claim members will be allowed to run as non-scoring guests subject to the advance approval of the race secretary – and cannot win medals. Individual medals for the first three men and women – plus a medal for the first man and women over 40, 50 and 60. The first club men’s team (6 to score) will receive the Dewar Shield The first club women’s team (6 to score) will receive the Derek Crookes Trophy The first club men’s team (12 to score) will receive the Coleman Cup. Race HQ is at a tent near the the race start and finish. This is on Wimbledon Common, near the junction between The Causeway, Camp Road and West Place (the nearest landmark is the Fox and Grapes public house – SW19 4UN).
